Normandy celebrates its 1100th Birthday in 2011
- 31 March to 30 December: Exhibition: Emakimono and The Bayeux Tapestry
- Around the 6th of June: D-DAY festival. Celebrations, commemorations, shows and meetings about the Allies’ landing and the liberation of Normandy.
Our campsite at Port-en-Bessin is located at the centre of all the important places to visit about world war two in Normandy.
- Every Friday from 8 July to 26 August: Fireworks at Port-en-Bessin (free)
- 1st to 3rd of July: 25th Medieval celebration of Bayeux. It’s a great moment combining music, fancy dress and craft shows in the medieval town of Bayeux. It’s also a good moment to visit the tapestry of Bayeux. It’s only 9kms from the camping.
- 5th and 6th of August: "Calvadose de rock" music festival in Sully
- 12th July to 27th of August: Every Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday: Special event at the cathedral
- 12th and 13th of November: Celebration of scallops and festival of sea chantes of Europe, in Port-en-Bessin. This also is the end of the season for the campsite.
